Acetate box DIY

Hihi!

As I promised a post on how to make an acetate box.
The ornament is 7,5 cm diameter with a bow, which I didn`t want to smash. So made a box 8 cm x 8 cm x 11 cm.


First I draw it on a paper to make sure it would fit the ornament, as in the picture below, you can also see the folding and cutting points. The 1 centimeter piece is where you will use the glue.
For cutting just place the molde on the acetate, use some paper clips and cut around it. (You have to cut until the red dots. )
Take care when folding it, theres no second chance! lol



Acetate is very sentive to glue, and gets stained very easy.  I lost some boxes because it gets very white, so I advise you to test your glue in a piece before use it in your box.



I use the recommended transparent instant glue, there`s other brands but I found just this one at the store. I hacen`t tried other types of glue yet.

Life Changing..

Hi everybody!

This week I took an important decision, decide to quite my job!

Easy to write but it was not so easy to take this decision... I have been thinking about it for a quite long time and this month things got worse in  the company, so took a deep breath and talked to my boss.

It was not a surprise to him, because I have talked about this possibility with him before.
Brazil is a country in crisis... specially for oil and gas business things are a way worse. :/ Unfortunately I worked for a company in the oil business.

The crisis was just one more reason to make me feel secure about quite my job,because besides that I have no perspective to grown in my position or/and aim for another one, and it was killing me.

Working environment got worse with these last months and we have to work  everyday with the possibility to get fired at any moment. People crying in the corridor..  huge lines of employees doing the procedures to get fired became normal there.


The truth is that I am feeling so happy and relieved now!!!  

Weekends Sewing - Costuras de final de semana

I have been sewing quite a lot these last months, it makes me remember how much I love to sew and create! :)
Tenho costurado bastante nesses ultimos meses! me fez lembrar o quanto eu gosto de costurar e criar.

Last month my brother got married !! and I sewed a party dress for myself. those kind of fancy dresses are not for me. I really not used to wear it!! but I did a try I did the best I could!
Mês passado foi o casamento do meu irmão!! e eu costurei u vestido para mim! não faço o estilo
 chiquérrimo,porque realmente não estou acostumada a vestir coisas desse tipo.as fiz o melhorque eu pude!!

Done it in grey, top part in lace and the skirt part in chiffon.
Fiz em cinza , a parte de cima em renda e a saia em chiffon.

Made a simple pattern cause already have the lace and I was afraid to be "over" in many ways,.
It  took me a half day sewing and voila: its got ready! (Photo1)
Fiz uma modelagem simpler porque eu já tinha a renda e eu estava com medo que ficasse exagerado. Depois de meio dia de trabalho ficou pronto! (foto 1)

When it got ready I realized that it was too simple.. and need some improvement!! So tried to find something cool on pinterest, and got an idea to make a sash for it. Photo2
Quando ficou pronto percebi que estava simples demais e precisava de alguma coisa a mais!!! então decidi procurar no pinterest, então surgiu a ideia de fazer uma faixa. foto2

Moving is my sin.... :)

Hi hi!
Long time since I last post a entry in my blog! any things has happened that make me stay away from posting, but now I am back! :)

Yes, I have moved again after I moved back to Brazil two times to be more exactly.
 First to Manaus, found a job there and just moved... well things didn't go the way I expected, stayed for just three months then moved again, this time to Recife, northeast of the country.

Recife is an amazing city and just love it ! its always sunny and warm, and it has a beautiful beach in the city and its also surrounded by really beautiful beaches as well.
